Ingredient Information
Jojoba is not really an oil but a liquid wax. It is molecularly similar to the composition of our skin’s sebum - and highly recommended for peri-menopausal skincare. It is rich in Vitamin E, a potent antioxidant that protects the skin by limiting the production of free radicals responsible for aging skin.
Squalane acts as a barrier, protecting the skin from moisture loss and providing a shield for the body from environmental toxins. The body’s squalene levels start declining when we are in our twenties. Squalane (olive-derived) is an antioxidant and promotes cell growth.
Rosehip seed oil is known for its ability to regenerate tissue, improve skin texture, and hydrate the skin. It is a super star plant oil for mature skin, containing high quantities of omega 3 and omega 6 fatty acids which are involved in cellular membrane and tissue regeneration.
Evening primrose oil is a rich source of essential fatty acids, consisting primarily of the omega 6 essential fatty acids, linoleic acid and gamma-linolenic acid (GLA). Research suggests that the topical application of oils rich in GLA enhances the epidermal barrier. The oil is highly regenerative, soothing, and revitalizing.
With Botanical Superchargers:
Sea Buckthorn Berry CO2 Extract is rich in antioxidants, Vitamin C and E. The berries contain phytosterols, known to protect cell membranes and collagen fiber, along with an abundance of carotenoids that may regenerate skin cells and protect against dehydration.
Infused carrot oil is made from a maceration of active carotenoid compounds from carrots, It is highly regenerative and especially nourishing for dry and mature skin.
Baobab seed oil is cold pressed from the seeds of the fruit of the Baobab tree. It is rich in vitamins and fatty acids. It encourages regeneration of skin cells without clogging pores and helps to calm irritated skin.
With aromatic essences:
Neroli essential oil is exceptional for skincare. It has a reputation for regenerating skin cells and maintaining or restoring elasticity, particularly in sensitive skin.
Rosa damascena is known as the Queen of Flowers. The aromatic essence is valuable for all skin types, especially dry, sensitive and mature skin. Its anti-inflammatory and cooling properties make it soothing for the skin. The scent of rose calms the mind and opens the heart.
Ritual of Self-Care
While your face is still damp from washing or toning, apply 2 - 4 drops of Regal Terrace oil by gently pressing it into your face and neck as needed. Take a few deep breaths. Focus on the scent and the nourishment that you are giving yourself.
You may wish to say an affirmation while you complete this aromatic ritual, for example, I take time to nourish myself.
You can also add 3 - 4 drops of the oil directly in with your nighttime moisturizer and apply to both the face and neck. You can also use 3 - 4 drops applied over your moisturizer, which will provide a protective barrier.
You may also want to apply a few drops to your hands - a luxurious, aromatic treat for dry hands.
